Anthropogenic Mummification
|
Spontaneous mummification is a mummification that happens due to natural causes. For example, there was a Tollund Man buried in a bog inside Europe. Natural acid and other elements cause the mummification to the body.
Ice Mummies

Anthropogenic mummification happens whenever a mummy is created by the purpose of the people. For example the mummies are from Egypt.

Ice mummies have also been found on may continents. The only differnence is that all hair was removed and ormal clothes were left on. More than 100 mummies have been found high in the Andes with gold, and silver around them. They were also left offerings and other items.
Though this mummification is not as known, it is well know in the more colder regions such as Antarctica, lower south America, and many more. Ice mummification is a less time consuming type. In the picture on the right, the hair is on because this is an exhibit in a museum. Hair like is said, is not usually on the body, but, the clothes are. This is how scientists know how life was back in the day. Certain fabrics used can conduct the way of life in Egypt, or Antarctica.
